Frequently asked questions

Do you manufacture diffusers for stretch ceilings?

Icon Close

Yes, we can manufacture diffusers with a special “spout” for stretch ceilings.

What ceiling void height is required for installation?

Icon Close

The required ceiling void height depends on many factors, including the overall dimensions of the diffuser assembled with the plenum box, as well as other utilities located above the ceiling. This question is best addressed to the design organization responsible for the project at your site, as they have a complete understanding of all conditions. As for the dimensions of our products, the minimum height from the structural slab to the finished ceiling level starts at 110 mm when using the narrow Type 4 plenum box. All dimensional specifications for standard plenum boxes can be easily found in our catalog, while non-standard sizes can be calculated upon request.

Does condensation form on the diffusers?

Icon Close

Condensation may occur when a cold metal surface comes into contact with warm, humid indoor air. In FLOW diffusers, this is completely prevented, as the area of such contact is reduced to zer

What is the maximum possible diffuser length?

Icon Close

A diffuser composed of multiple sections can be of virtually any length. The sections are connected with special connectors into a single continuous line, and the joints between them are nearly invisible. The maximum length of an individual diffuser (a single profile without sectioning) is limited by the profile dimensions and is up to 4 meters.

Can FLOW diffusers be installed in a child's room?

Icon Close

Yes, FLOW diffusers can be installed in any type of room, including children’s spaces. For such environments, where special requirements apply, we can additionally include antibacterial or antistatic additives in the coating of the plenum box — which has a positive effect on air quality. We can also decorate the visible surface of the diffuser reflector with bright and cheerful prints upon request from our youngest clients.

What ceiling height is required for installation?

Icon Close

FLOW diffusers can be installed in rooms with any ceiling height — the key is to correctly determine their placement and select the appropriate diffuser by calculating the air velocity in the occupied zone. Parameter selection is typically performed by the design organization as part of the overall ventilation and air-conditioning system design. Based on our catalogs — whose data is verified by research from Bauman Moscow State Technical University — this process becomes extremely straightforward.

How do I select the right diffuser?

Icon Close

Diffuser selection is based on several parameters, such as airflow rate, required linear dimension, system air pressure, ceiling height, and the necessary jet velocity at a specific distance. All of these factors must be considered by the design organization when developing the project. Our specialists can also assist by performing an approximate calculation of the required airflow and diffuser length based on recommended average values. We have additionally simplified the selection process for designers by providing complete technical information in our catalog and making FLOW diffuser BIM models available in open access.

How do I choose the duct diameter for connection?

Icon Close

The duct diameter is determined by the design engineer during project development, depending on the capacity of the equipment and the chosen duct layout scheme. It is important to remember that air velocity in ducts is strictly regulated by building codes. Exceeding the recommended air velocities may lead to increased noise levels and higher system resistance, which will inevitably affect the efficiency of the equipment.

Can FLOW diffusers be installed in swimming pools?

Icon Close

FLOW diffusers are made from AD-31 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, which is highly resistant to corrosion, and the powder-polymer coating applied to both the diffusers and the plenum boxes allows them to be used safely in high-humidity and moderately aggressive environments. Additionally, upon special request, we can manufacture plenum boxes from various grades of stainless steel recommended for humid environments as well as for spaces with special requirements (clean rooms, medical facilities).

How can I purchase your products in other regions?

Icon Close

FLOW diffusers can be purchased from anywhere in the world. Our extensive network of nearly 2,000 partners across Russia, the CIS, and EAEU countries ensures convenient and efficient service. We can ship the finished products to you via a transport company, and we can also produce additional protective crating to ensure safe delivery of the cargo.

Do you manufacture multi-slot diffusers?

Icon Close

Models AF, X, and T are designed with a single slot of varying widths, which allows them to be selected for different airflow rates. It is also possible to produce a multi-slot diffuser — it will consist of several single-slot diffusers connected together into one unit.

Do you have a diffuser that operates with the Coanda effect?

Icon Close

The Coanda effect occurs when a stream of cold air adheres to the ceiling and spreads along it, which significantly reduces the efficiency of air mixing in the room, as the mixing of the supplied cold air and the warm room air takes place only on one side. This effect also greatly increases the jet length, which causes discomfort in the lower part of the room near the floor. From the standpoint of proper air distribution, creating the Coanda effect is undesirable — or, to be more precise, unacceptable. With low ceiling heights, we recommend paying close attention to the placement and direction of the air supply, or using diffusers with an alternative angled air discharge. These models produce much shorter air jets and allow air to be supplied into the occupied zone at velocities that meet comfort requirements according to building standards.

Is it possible to supply both intake and exhaust through one diffuser?

Icon Close

You can deliver counter-directional airflows — or air from different systems such as ventilation and air conditioning — through a single diffuser thanks to the built-in airflow divider. At the same time, the FLOW diffuser line remains continuous and clean, with no visible external elements.
